Our family moved to Duchesne when I was in the 4th Grade.  It was late September and school had started Mr. Foy was the 4th grade teacher.  The Duchesne Elementary was fairly new and the landscaping on the east side was an open field with brush piles.  The 4th graders played a wild game of Bears and Lions.  I was new and Kenny told me I could be on his Lion Team (Kenny had scratch marks on his face from a clash with the Bears)  I found a stick in the brush pile and Kenny kept an eye on me and helped protect me.  This game would not fly in todays world!!!

Football came back to Duchesne in 1973 (we were sophmores) Kenny was a natural lineman and played on both sides of the line (offense and defense).  It was rough in the trenches and Kenny pioneered the use of hay hauling gloves on the football field.   When we were seniors Kenny was the biggest kid on the football team at 180 pounds (and he was a tough 180 pounds)!  Kenny always played hard and was never intimidated by the guy on the other side of the line.

We had two people that could kickoff and put the ball into the end zone?  Kenny was one of them (Randy Hall was the other) it was fun to see him kick off wearing his hay hauling gloves!  I watch a lot of college teams that don't have a kicker that can kick to the end zone? They do kick from the 35 now and we kicked from the 40 but to have two guys on a little 1A team that could kick that far was pretty rare.

When we had reunions we always had to go to the Husky Station and pick up Kenny or he wouldn't attend!  We all figured that he was the most home body in the class and he rarely left the county. We wondered if he had ever left the state?  but we heard he made it to Colorado once?

OMGS, I so miss my friend. I am so sad you are gone. Kenny was like a big, pain in the butt brother to me. He and his family let me stay with them for a while when I was a young gal starting on my own. That whole family was great. I left Duchesne early and EVERY TIME I came to town, the first place I would stop would be the STATION. I could harrass him as much as he did me. I am very thankful I got to see your face soon before you passed. I will still stop by the STATION every time I come to town. I will sit and talk to you even though you are not there. Your spirit will be there forever. My heart goes out to his wife. Bye my friend, you will never be forgotten.
