Kirby Robbins - Class Of 1973

Kirby Robbins


Kirby Robbins passed away at his home in West Valley City, Utah on Thanksgiving Day 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Kirby was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

 

Kirby was born in Roosevelt, Utah and grew up in Duchesne with family and friends. During his childhood Kirby was an avid hunter and athlete, and competed in baseball and basketball. Kirby and his wife Donna moved to Evanston in 1977 where they raised their four sons, they later divorced.  He moved to the Salt Lake Valley and married Kim Crossley, who had four children, and resided there for the remainder of his life.

 

Kirby worked construction all his life and grew up with the family business, Robbins Construction Company, then later worked for Granite Construction as a superintendent for twenty-two years.

 

During his lifetime Kirby hunted all over the state of Utah and Wyoming with his family, and those are their fondest memories. He also had a love for sports and enjoyed playing softball and watching all sports, and his favorite all time team were the NY Yankees. He enjoyed camping, 4 wheeling and watching and filming deer and elk.

 

Kirby leaves behind a wife, Kim of West Valley City; sons, Jarod of Duchesne, Denny of Evanston, Dusty(Shanna) of Evanston, Matt(Jen) of Evanston, also Jennifer(Mike) Johnson of Tooele, Cody(Jonna) Crossley of Tooele, Kathy and Kallie Crossley of West Valley City, mother and father, Ronald and Ernitta Robbins, sister Ronda(Don) Bastian, all of Duchesne.  Kirby also leaves 12 grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

 

He is proceeded in death by his Grandparents as well as a nephew; Scott Reece Branson.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1st , 2009 at the McDougal Funeral Home in SLC at 10:00 am, and interment at the Duchesne City Cemetary at 2:00.  In lieu of flowers, an account under Ronda Bastian “Relay For Life” has been established for Kirby Robbins at any Wells Fargo bank and all monies will be donated to the American Cancer Society to raise money for cancer research.

Ronda Robbins (Bastian) (1978)

I am Kirbys little sister Ronda , he wys a strong man and had a hard Battle with cancer, but throught it all he never gave up. I think of him every day and will so miss him. thanks to all his classmates for ther love and support, to are family (I LOVE YOU KIRBY....)
