In Memory

Rae Ann Davies - Class Of 1976

Rae Ann Davies

Rae Ann Davies was killed in an auto accident at the age of 18 in July, 1976.  She was engaged to be married to David H. Green (Class of 1974).  The wedding was scheduled for July 31, 1976.  David and Rae Ann were both traveling on Highway 40 to Vernal for wedding shopping and a movie when they were killed in a head-on collision.

A joint funeral was held at the Duchesne Stake Center on Tuesday, July 20, 1976.  Burial was at the Price City Cemetery, in Price, UT.

Karen Lefler Doty writes:

We were married on July 10, and returned home from our honeymoon the day before the accident. We visited with them about our honeymoon and were invited to go with them to the movie the next day. However we had to get back to work and were unable to be with them. We were very saddened and in shock when we heard about the accident. Our thoughts are of them when our wedding anniversary comes each year. We miss them.

RAE ANN PUT UP WITH A LOT FROM A PESTY LITTLE KID LIKE ME. SHE NEVER MADE ME FEEL LIKE THAT THOUGH. I TRULY THINK OF HER FROM TIME TO TIME. SHE GAVE ME HER BATON WHEN I WAS LITTLE, I STILL HAVE IT.
I MISS HER AND WONDER WHAT SHE WOULD BE DOING TODAY. AND IF SHE WOULD STILL BE FRIENDS WITH THAT PESTY LITTLE KID. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK AND HOPE SO. THANK-YOU RAE ANN FOR MAKING ME FEEL IMPORTANT.
LOVE YOU.

My very dear friend, there is not a day goes by that I don’t think about you, and wish that you were here to share the ups and downs of life with. I think back at all the stupid and serious things that we lived through in your short life time. It saddens me to know that we can not share our great adventures and dreams with your grandkids and mine all together.
I miss you beyond belief!!!! Save a place up there for me so we can catch up on all the gossip!!! Love you…….
