Five sons Bryan Clutter and William Clutter of Illinois, Nicholas Clutter, Shaun Clutter and Steven Clutter all of California.

John loved to play basketball, baseball, fishing and to lift weights. He made friends easily and his best friend in high school was Lamar Davis. He married Jamie (Park) in 1985 and they had a daughter Megan. They later divorced but at the time of his death they were very good and close friends.
