The "Supply Room" Caper Posted Tuesday, March 31, 2009 09:12 PM I think it must have been about 8th or 9th grade. Peat (Kathy Peatross Marrett) and I had a locker at the end of the hallway in the old upper part of the school. At the end of our row of lockers, there was an old class room that had been converted into a storage room for the vending machines. It was full of pop and candy bars, etc. We happen to notice that each time Miss Condie would open the paddle lock, she used the "master key" for all locks at the school. Peat and I reasoned, that since the lock on our locker was also a school issued lock... her key would also open that one. One day, we told her there was some reason we needed her to open it, and while she went inside with one of us, the other replaced our lock with the one that had been on the door. This, of course, left us able to open the lock using our combination, whenever we felt like treating friends to ill-gotten gains! (Okay, now that I look back, it was "theft". It just didn't seem like it at the time! Brook Brook Petersen |
